PIATA ROMANA

....just off the "main drag," surrounded by clutter, waiting to be noticed!

CALEA VICTOREI

I took a walk down Calea Victorei (Victory Avenue)with a friend today and grabbed a few churches on the way. This once elegant street is bouncing back and is home to some luxurious hotels and boutiques.... but the churches still win!

GO WEST, REVISITED

I blogged this one a while back, titled "GO WEST." Lisa was there again and took this fantastic one as the blue sun was going down and the candles were lighting up inside the windows.... amazing.....

THE CHAPEL ON MIRCEA VODA

I blogged this a few years ago, but now it is great to see with the flowers around the door. They've been rebuilding it for a long time.... it sits just across from us!

THE ARMENIAN CHURCH

This shockingly white beauty is near Piata Rosetti and sits up against a gleaming glass tower.... what a contrast.

WHITE AND RIGHT

This church is newer and a little more modern, but maintains the "look" of them all.... it is in a busy place (aren't they all) and there are many wires in the way. This is at "Heroes of the Revolution" plaza, near City Mall.

ADORING MOTHER OF GOD

.....hard to see, very worth the effort.

THE ANGLICAN CHURCH

This one sits at a crossroads just off some of the city's busiest streets.... not an Orthodox cathedral, but a church is a church (at least in the building).

BANEASA'S CHURCH

This chapel sits in the shadows of Baneasa Bridge and the many new steel and glass office towers that are growing there.

GO WEST

On the western edge of town on the outskirts of a neighborhood called Ghenca stands this complex of church buildings and cemetary.

PIPERA'S PRIDE

In the heart of Pipera, just north of Herastrau, sits this charming church.
